The Veterinary Science competition includes a set of identification based on surgical instruments, grooming equipment, Parasites and breed identification along with an exam on animal general care. ​The purpose of the veterinary science career development event is to promote college and career readiness by providing opportunities to develop technical knowledge and demonstrate practical skills in the field of veterinary science.

The contest will include:
Part A) Identification Tests            
    1. Equipment and Materials-150
    2. Parasites-50 
    3. Breed identification- 100
Part B) General Knowledge Test (50 questions Worth 2 points each)-100
​             1. 10 of the 50 questions will be Vet Sci math questions 

​Part C) Practicums will consist of three from the list of current year practicums. Students will explain to a judge while performing these tasks.    
    1. Practicum #1-50
    2. Practicum #2-50
    3. Practicum #3-50
​TOTAL POINTS   Individual- 550   Team top three scores of four person team-1,650
